One of the things I have enjoyed about being a graphic designer is the many types of projects done and range of industries I’ve been able to work in. My first job after college was for an Inventory Management Consultant, after that I worked for TriMet, our local transportation agency. My next stop was at OHSU, our local medical school, where I was the web and graphic designer for the Center for Women’s Health. And after that I worked for a consulting firm whose clients were local public agencies, cities, counties, non-profits and community developers.
Each step along the way taught me a lot. I’ve learned about maps, the web, print, wayfinding, urban planning, medicine, accessibility, public information, information design and usability. I’ve designed bus passes, holograms, neon signs, and maps, drawn illustrations for fetal testing, cartoons.
